Hot and Crispy Tofu Baked | Vegan Crispy Tofu Recipe for Weightloss

Ingredients
  • Firm Tofu - 400 gm
  • Light soy sauce - 1 tbsp
  • Garlic powder - ½ tsp
  • Olive oil - 2 tbsp
  • Cornflour - 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Blacker pepper powder - ¼ tsp
  • Salt - ½ tsp
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 200 C / 390 F and place the wire rack at the middle of the oven.
  2. Unpack the firm tofu and drain out any excess water from it. Place it on a chopping board and cut it into cubes of 1-inch length.
  3. Take the tofu cubes in a mixing bowl and add all the other ingredients to the bowl - light soy sauce, garlic powder, red chilli powder, cornflour (a.k.a. cornstarch), salt, pepper and olive oil.
  4. Now cover the bowl with a plate and shake the bowl but with a light hand. If you shake too strongly, tofu pieces may break. Shaking will distribute all the spices and aromatics evenly and coat each tofu on all sides.
  5. Alternatively, you can stir the tofu with a rubber spatula while making sure the tofu pieces do not break.
  6. Leave the tofu at room temperature for 15 minutes to allow them to absorb all the flavors.
  7. Meanwhile, line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a grilling rack on top of the lined baking sheet. Brush the grilling rack with olive oil to avoid sticking.
  8. After about 15 minutes, arrange the tofu pieces one by one on the grilling rack in a single layer.
  9. Bake the marinated tofu in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then take them out, flip each tofu over and bake for another 12 minutes.
  10. Your hot and crispy tofu is ready! Serve and enjoy them immediately with your favorite dip like tomato ketchup or mayo! Enjoy!
